We survived here in South Carolina and are gearing up for a great weekend. Weather looks good, the food will be great, the beer will flow endlessly, and we already have 49 pre-registered boats(16 cats)! Friday night we serve margaritas(free) with a mexican fiesta(Thanks Outback!) Saturday night Outback cooks steaks and Budweiser has donated 6 kegs, and we are purchasing more! Sunday the ladies of Columbia Sailing Club will be cooking burgers, and the rocking chairs will bring it all down to a fitting end.
If you want to race for the Alter Cup, then we are the qualifier for SC, NC, Ga., and Tenn. We will have a US Sailing sign up booth on site with incentives to boot. You can join under the Golden Anchor membership for $40 a year with full benefits. Remember that both skipper and crew have to memebers of US Sailing and your boat has to meet certain requirements(Stock with a DPN w/o Brackets or parentheses)to race for the Alter Cup. You do not have to be a US Sailing member to race in this regatta!
We are expecting a class of Tigers, Inter 20/NACRA 6.0, H 18, H 17, H16, and an open class.
We are sailing on beautiful Lake Murray in Columbia S Carolina, and anticipate 3 race courses with close to 75 boats. The catamaran fleet will have 1 start for all classes. There will be medals for Alter Cup, trophies for the Outback Cup 2003 Outback Cup, and points awarded to Hobie division 9 participants.
Camping and RV sites are available, but space is limited, so plan to come early friday if you have an RV. Please not pets at CSC.
