The Islander Reef run is ready to go in Eleven days. April 2 & 3, 2011. Starting at the Islander Resort in Islamorada, FL, MM 82.1.
Race will be a two day event; First day to Marathon, second day continues to Key West. Total distance 82 miles. Food served in Marathon at Sombrero Beach park. Awards in Salsa Loca restaurant in Key West. Details in Sailing instructions
All Catamarans from 16 to 22 feet, with crew of two, eligible. Safety equipment required for ocean distance racing: USCG approved PFD worn at all times on each sailor, compass, handheld VHF, Cell phone in Water proof container(or Bag), Charts for area to be sailed (Islamorada to Key West, ocean side), hand held GPS, extra throw able life preserver and a tow line of at least 20 feet.
