Thanks for the comments guys, we had a great time at Lake Bonney the trailer held up well after coming back via Adelaide we did 1160km. Certainly not the most economical trailer to tow.
The wind was perfect with no wind on Saturday when we set up camp but 2 on the wire humming during the race on Sunday. There were 3 Mozzies, 1 Nacra 5.8, 1 Paper Tiger and one Pacer. My kids aged 8,11,12 sailed in the morning but didnt want to do the race and my wife crewed for me. The course was set for great fun with not much upwind, 1 sometimes 2 on wire to A due to the shoreline stopping the wind, short downwind leg to B, 2 on wire and sails drumming to C. Due to the kids opting out of sailing I was packing up sails on their boats and arrived at the course with no idea where to go but had great fun working it out, I was done like a dinner again by 2 Mozzies. Theres plenty of water for cats in the lake so if you want a great family camp with sailing and friendly local sailors I'd highly recommend Lake Bonney, their official opening is 6th Oct.
