Lessons in SC
I have been a monhull sailor for 30yrs. Just bought a used H-16 and H-14 (not sure which to keep)for fun and the kids. I would like someone in the Charleston, SC area to fast pace me on the Hobie's and share some insider tips. I live part time on IOP and would pay an experienced person for some on water lessons. Send a email if interested.
Tks,
David:
Get "Catamaran Racing for the 90's from the online store here and read it with them. It will teach you stuff it will take you three years to learn on your own. Then we you find a trainer you can go over it with them. Welcome to the Hobie Life. You are in for a lot of fun with the kids. My 12 yr old grand daughter sails with me. The 4.3 will be for her and friends when she learns to helm herself. That is her a few yrs ago in the avatar.

Hi David,
I would recommend keeping the H16 if your only going to keep one of them. I recently switched from monohull sailing to sailing a Hobie 16, and I must say that I'm loving it. It doesnt really take much effort in terms of learning to sail the H16 if you've been sailing monohull. But until you find a trainer I suggest downloading the following file .. http:/
Its a 'how to' booklet that I found very beneficial. I didnt really need any training to adjust to the H16, the booklet had all the information I needed.
Enjoy your new cat
