"What’s New? - Madcatter 30 “Buddy System”
Some of you may know already that because of the many cool things we've added to this year's Madcatter, the Friday night C Fleet Chalk talk has been postponed. The Guest Expert panel and the Distant Race will be wonderful learning opportunities. Instead of the C Fleet Chalk Talk Friday night, we are proud to announce the Madcatter 30 "Buddy system".
The "Buddy System" is an informal, one on one mentoring system that will set-up rookies with more experienced skippers. The advanced skipper will be available for introductions at the Friday night party, support during the brief C Fleet Skippers meeting and boat tuning Saturday before racing.
C Fleet skippers of any age or any size Hobie can reap the benefits of an A Fleet mentor. Crews, Ladies racers, and Youths, everyone is welcome.

IMO, This is a GREAT idea of how to grow the sport of cat racing. ... We often overlook the new racers... we coax and coax an avid beach sailor to come to a regatta and give racing a try and then we (usually) expect them to just dive in and swim with the big fish...
Many a sailor on this board has tried it... and said... NO... in over my head... don't want to hurt anyone...
204's buddy system is a terrific idea and everyone should take notice....
When that new sailor turns up at your regatta... this is the way to take care of them!
