Major is 300 miles or more...

100 miles or less is just another weekend regatta, lol...

I'm working on a quarterly report, this is just a chance for extra publicity.

The only 500+ mile races I know is R2AK.com. I think Watertribe's longer race is not open to Sailboats.

Their 300 mile race is but I don't think their other two are because they navigate narrow streams.

smaller distance stuff around here includes (name and approx. distance in miles):
Miami-Key Largo 50
Ft. Lauderdale - Key West 100
any of the various Cuba iterations 100
Steeplechase 100
Hiram's Haul 50
Florida 300
The current iteration of the Hogsbreath 100

I believe most of these are part of the Endurance Series?

Don't know dates for most of them (yet).

I had suggested a Naples - Long Key sail with overnight @ Everglades City or

expedition style

with no stopover as a feeder to Steeplechase and/or an experience builder for Everglades Challenge... but don't know if there would be enough sailors to justify the effort.

Plus, you'd have to bring your own banjo and crocodile rifle. It's serious back-woods, no support,

we're the Fugawee

stuff. Jake's been through there - he knows.

Below are some distance races. I did an educated guess on the Steeplechase and Gilligan's Run. Rick can chime in if this is incorrect but he used the same exact date in 2011.

April 30: Miami-Key Largo (Miami/Key Largo)
May 17-21: Florida 300 (Florida East Coast)
June 15-18: Great Texas 300 (Texas Gulf Coast)
July 30: Sandusky Steeplechase (Put-in-Bay)
August 6: Gilligan's Run (Daytona) date tentative
October 29-30: Hiram's Haul (Melbourne/Sebastian)
December 10-11: Steeplechase (Key Largo)

Thanks guys. 300 is probably our longest at this point.
