Hi, I am a new cat sailor and I would like to meet some other experience cat sailor in Virginia Beach/Chick's Beach for advive or maybe some sailing lessons. I just had my first sailing on a Hobie wave and I just loved it. It was so cool!! I am also looking for a good used boat to start out on. Do you know of anyone looking to sell a boat. I would be mostly single handling it but would want to take 2 or 3 friends out. I was considering the Hobie wave, inter 17 and a nacra 5.2 (I saw a couple in Virgina Beach for sale). Where can I store my boat, on the beach like the other boats that I have seen. I know there are alot of used Hobie 16 around but I heard that they are easy to flip over/pitch pole. I want a easy fast boat to start with and progress on. The boats that have a jib can they be sailed with just the main sail for ease of handling? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Steve,
Fleet 32 will be holding its annual Raven Rookie Race on July 14th at Chick's beach, near the Albermale access. There will be several local sailors and boats on hand that day. Rigging, tuning clinics and an on the water race complete with skipper's meeting and trophies, are just some of the events that we have in store. I think this would be a great oppurtunity for you to see and hear about different cat's and to sail them with an experienced sailor.
You might also want to consider coming out to our next fleet meeting on July 11th. I will email you details.
