Is there a good mast float for a Prindle. All I can ever find are hobie.

buy some stick on sail repair tape for the sail damage. it looks to be along the batten pocket and have been caused by the sail rubbing on the side stays

i like the colourful sails myself but you'll probably only be able to get white stick-on tape

you might have similar wear on the batten pockets just above and below that pocket too, on both sides of the sail. at least my 25year old sails did

over winter you might want to invert the hulls and dab on some white gelcoat until you build up those chips on the bows

The cheapest and coolest looking mast float i know of is your mast! haha...Get some silicone and a old cooler and go to town!
Remove mast head(drill out rivets)(top peice)
Take one peice of the cooler and place it flat on top of the mast and push on it a little to make an imprint of the mast. Cut out the cooler so that it fits snuggly inside the mast. remove peice from mast and cover in silicone on the sides. Slide peice back down inside the mast about 8-12 inches. Make sure transition from cooler to mast walls is siliconed very well (you may want to add some more for safety and insurance. Apply silicone to the sides of the mast head and press back into mast. Re-rivet the mast head back on and check for spots that are not filled with silicone adequately.
This is what i did on my boat that almost sank because of a leaky mast. I went out and flipped it the weekend after i did this work and left it on its side for 20 minutes and didnt take on 1 drop of water. Its easy, cheap, and looks a hell of alot cooler than a mast bob!

I wouldn't bother. Head down to the water and toss in the mast. Check for leaks. It should float easy-peezy. If it's sealed, you shouldn't find yourself ever turtling.

You can take the easy way out on the chips in the bow by simply filling it in with Marine-Tex, sanding and polishing it down.

I would ditch the rollers on the trailer. You'll get soft spots on the bottoms of the hulls. Find your self some pvc sewar pipe and cut 1-2 foot long half-sections. Line them with outdoor carpeting to make cradles.

Other than the deck lips over the hulls, that's a rather familiar looking boat. <img src=

Actually-
There is another way to do this - ala the Taipans- Sort of a long description but principle should be clear if you read through this! Cut out 2 of the foam pieces as you describe- Run a needle with strong, thin thread through middle of both pieces- tie thread around toothpick and snug up against one piece (the

bottom

) of foam- make sure thread is long enough so it reaches from the hound (the attachment at the top of the mast where the shrouds attach) to the top of the mast- Now insert this piece of foam in the top of the mast- put a nice, thick bead of silicone on the top of this piece of foam- about 1/2

thick- near, but not necessarily touching, the mast inside wall- now shove this piece down the mast to the level of the hound (if you mark your

- a small piece of PVC pipe or even your tiller extension will often work or the thread you will know when you are there). Put the thread through the other (

top

) piece of foam and shove it down the mast, pulling the thread through as it slides down- You can put a bead of silicone on the bottom of this piece if you desire but if you put enough on the bottom piece this is not necessary. Now the object is to use the thread to keep the bottom piece from being pushed further down as you shove the top piece down against the bottom- thereby extruding the silicone sealant (

squishing it

) out from between the two pieces against the inside of the mast and, voila, sealing it! <img src=
