Seems to be a wide variety of opinions on the FX. None of them out here in the Midwest(Kansas City area) to try. I have an H-20 and H-17 but am looking for a new singlehanded with a chute. Three questions I have are 1) Has anyone tried any of the the three wing designs and recommend one over the other(I'm a diehard H-17 sailor and love my wings, keeps me out of the chop and sailin' more wind) and 2) Tell me it doesn't have a comptip( have broken two on my H-20 not to mention replacing many luff tracks, retrofitting them because of the sail pulling out, etc.) and 3) Given your three choices of that "front wind thing", which would you purchase to start with.

(1) Don't know; haven't sailed with these wings

(2) It doesn't have a comp tip ; reason : Hobie EU is building it and Hobie US is importing it,Hobie EU is not bound by that court case that is the cause of the US comptip. Maybe things have changed lately but that is what I remember off last year.

(3) No spinnaker (symmetrical) ; doesn't work that well you can get more performance out of the other two
FX-one seems stirdy enough to take the Reacher but don't make it to big or it will overload the platform.
Gennaker or asymmetric spinnaker : Works and no issues with overloading; my advice buy an aftermarket spi instead off .... well you know. These aftemarket spi's have a better cut and are more forgiving. That is My experience
