I am looking for any info anyone can give me on a morgan 5.8 metre cat. I bought this about 4 months ago and have had no luck. it says morgan 5.8 on the sides of the hulls, the printing is blended in with the pinstripes which match the sails. only eveyone tells me morgan never made a cat, Catalina just plain won`t return my e-mails, looked in the access ports for an ID plate, there isn`t one, all i have is the bill of sale from a storage yard, most of the hardware is european and what isn`t, is made by SEAWAY, and they don`t exist anymore that i can find. It closely resonables a NACRA 5.8 even to the kick up rudder design. If any one knows anything that could help me, it would be appericated, want to get papers on this cat.

The readers of this forum identified a cat from desciption only. this cat supposedly has a name, but no one knows about it.
I suspect the name is wrong, a previous owner made decals or painted the name. Perhaps if you desribed more details of the boat, it would elicit some other types of responses. obviously, if you found a serial number or something liek that would help too.
e.g. shape of hulls - symmetrical, boards? shape & length of of beams?, boom or boomless? etc
hulls are the shape of a samuria sword, 19`6ft. lenght\ 8` ft beam, beams are 4" inch sch. 40 alumn. pipe with a 7` ft. spread between for and aft beam boomless mast with around 226 sq ft. main sail, jib i don`t know. haven`t sailed her yet am still waiting on the tramp i had to have made. the beams sit in the hulls on a half circle formed in the hulls. don`t have serial # and can`t do picture yet, scanners down, if you have any ideas , I `ll welcome they, cause i don`t have any at this point
What's the mainsail emblem?
no emblem on main, it`s a 5 color sail starting with black and going up it`sburnt-orange, then bronze, then burnt-yellow, then yellow. theses colors are the same as whats on the hulls superimposed over the words morgan 5.8 metre. any ideas?
