I spend the majority of my sailing time sailing upwind through a narrow passage to the main body of Lake Travis. I was told that there was a company that offered transom adapter kits and small motors for NACRAs. I have an 18 square. Any thoughts? Also are there any NACRA sailors out there who sail in the Lake Travis/Austin Area?

i built a glass and plywood bracket that i use with an electric (30lb thrust) motor. it pushes my 650 lb boat in 5 knots of wind at about 2 knots.

Michael Yost, Mike Beuerlein (6.O's), Steve Manifold (5.7), and Jim Casto (5.5) come to mind. I'm sure there are others as well.

Hi, this is Jim Casto. I sail my N5.5 uni on lake travis. Fortunately, my launch site has good wind.

There are several sources for the hardware you ask about, and I can help you with that.

Please email jcasto@austin.rr.com or call me, I'm in the Austin phone book.

Jim Casto
