Hi Rick,

I was just wondering what was the mode of failure for Bob Curry's demasting. I am thinking of buying a Bim Javelin soon, and it would be nice to know why this happened.

You can find the answer in

Steve,

The nicropress fitting on the forestay let go. I had new wires made and they were not properly made. I have since made up my own wires since I used to be a rigger. The boat held up without mishap and I recommend you buy one! It is a rocket upwind and is faster downwind. I am selling mine to buy another one. Interested?

Bob
