I was Mug Race crew for Richard Rayburn on Hobie 21

Fat Cat

, and we logged our track with his GPS watch. You can take a look at Every Trail:

Mug Race 2011 GPS Track

Every Trail is the only site I've used for this. Are there any better ones out there?

I use Garmin connect. I don't know that it's better. Seems about the same.

i use mapmytracks

very similar, the default speed in 1x, so best to click it up to about 32x or 64x

We logged 52.3 miles.

It looks like you did about 54 something.

The current was really wicked in the middle of the river. Barbie kept saying it looks like the current is going South. I said I don't think it ever reverses flow this far South, it is just an illusion. That was just after the first big right/left bends around the power plant.

We went to the East side following the wind and found a crab float that was nearly immersed from the flow.

That was enough to send me to the West. After that we just stayed in shallow water and did what we could to keep moving.

All in all, a brutal race but still fun. The Mug Race gets in your blood. After the race I said it was my last one.

By this morning I am looking forward to next year!
