How about an Live chat night on IRC? As an fan of a particular modle of 4x4 truck, we used to get together every Wednesday night around 7:30 mountain time and chat on IRC?

The main question here is, who knows what IRC is? Who actually runs IRC? What client do you use? What chanel to meet in?

IRC is more of a chat room service. allows for the set up and management of chat rooms.
As for a client, trillian works fairly well is free, easy to install and configure.
I can probably put a read me together on downloading and configuring Trillian.
I thought the time differance would be in metric units rather than US hours.

MSN Messenger 7.5 is easy and free.
MSN is great for when you have two or three people in a conversation but IRC is much better for larger groups.

I agree with most of the posts, we are mostly adults here and part of the learning curve is just having patience to WAIT for an answer to your reply, it increases your level of patience and stimulates your "want" gland, I honestly think if this was a chat instead of a forum, most people wouldnt be here. this is a "check it while you can" forum that incompasses the majority of us. meaning we have busy lives that allow us only the ability to CHECK our forums rather than LIVE in them. Im not trying to put anybody down, just a friendly reminder of reality. happy sailing too all.

It is also nice to chat SOMETIMES, not all the time. I have met some rally good friends chatting. YES it can be over used. But still nice every now and then.
