I am starting to look for a used n20. Are there any issues or common problems with the boats that I should be aware of as I am looking. About the carbon masts, will the integrity of a carbon mast degrade over time due to UV exposure to the point that failure will become more likely? If so, how long may this take for a mast that may have been kept either uncovered or stored mast up? Have the boats changed at all over the years? Should I look for a boat built after a certain year to take advantage of upgrades, or are all pretty much the same?

Where are you located? The easiest way to become familar with the boats is to see a class of them together to compare some of the upgrades that have come out over the years. There are active classes in clusters throughout the country, perhaps you could check out a regatta where there will be a bunch of them and talk to some of the owners who have been into it for a while.

I wouldn't worry about the carbon mast. Its painted and therefore pretty well protected.

The boats have been pretty consistent over the years AFAIK. The 2001 that we sail on measures in on the

moderately light

side.
