It sure was Great racing having all the F17s on the line! Results have Matt Struble finishing first, Mark Batchelor second, Bill Gillespie third and Chris Batchelor fourth. All the results, including race-by-race elapsed and corrected times, can be found at http://www.websitemagic.com/cram/caseville1_fleet_results.htm

Here is another of the pictures taken when the fleet lined up the F17s at lunch on Saturday.

HEllo all,

What a nice pic,...

IF someone out there knows the answer..

..I see boom # 3 [ start at the foreground, count back 3 booms]...is the 'old style' rectangular I17/I18/I20 boom.

..whose boat is that and 'whats up'...

regards,

Bruce

Hi Bruce,

The boat is owned by Harold Burns and was one of the first 5 brought into Michigan in 2000. Mark Biggers sailed it at the regatta. All the boats shown are in the F17 fleet, with the exception of a F18 with a blue sail in the background (just in front of mast of F17 with blue sail).

Are you in the U.S. now? Do you have plans to make it up to the Great Lakes this year?

What happened in the last race? The results show only 5 F-17's raced? Did everyone else pack up early to hit the road?

In Race 6, there was a big wind shift (30 degrees?) with a big increase in pressure which caused most of the fleet to try to carry their spinnakers and reach up to the leeward mark. At least 3 of the F17s went over and sustained damage (I landed on my boom!). Those three F17s came to the beach and did not race in the last race. Another of the F17 skippers was feeling some shoulder pain on Sunday morning and did not go out on Sunday. The fleet captain had to go home Saturday night (family committment) and did not race on Sunday. The skipper in 2nd place said he didn't need to race the last race since he couldn't catch Matt for 1st Place and no one could catch him for 2nd. That accounts for 6 boats not starting the last race. I think 3 of the boats started but did not finish the last race.
