Believe that shot was taken from the video "Sharing The Wind" - a must have for any cat sailor and especially TheMightyHobie18 lovers. Never seen a bigger picture of that shot - that one was taken from the Hobie site.

Wasn't that Dennis Frohm on his Hobie 18 way back in the early 80s (Hawaii)?

I believe so. The video has them flying hulls on the beach, pulling skiiers, and of course those incredible wave jumps. Makes me want to buy a tent and sleep on the beach in Hawaii.
