Whatever happened to the Prindle brand when they shuttered Performance Cat in Santa Ana. Is it still around? Talked to a person the other day that said there was a deal on the table to sell it a while back and it fell through..

Not interested in buying it, just curious as to what happened... Anyone here know?

Nacra Sailing International (Holland) owns it. The molds were too well used to continue production so they were discarded.

That makes more sence and the fact there is no real market for them..

The story I go was that the new owners were only gong to allow for the 15, 16, and Classic 18 to be sold, and weren't selling the 18-2, 19, and I believe the molds for a 20' which nixed the deal... I have heard rumors of a 20' Prindle. Of course this came from a complete stranger I meet on the beach, but he had the talk down so it got me to wondering..

Didn't know that Coleman owned both Prindle and Hobie Cat....

From what I know... the chain of ownership has been, Surfglass, Lear Siegler, back to Performance, and then Catalina Yacht, and now no mas~ somewhere in there O'Day boat...
