I'm going to buy a Nacra570 with a spinnaker. My question is if the spinnaker sheet is standardly connected to the shrouds, or further back on the boat, on the back beam.

Can one choose between these options? What is the best option?

I think this is a geometry question. and the answer depends on how the spinn is cut. My sheet is right at the main shrouds on an I20. because if it were back further then the spinn would be too tight when sheeted at the foot. and if it was moved up it would be too loose at the foot and too tight on the leech. sory for the not answer but you are going to have to experiment unless it is a stock spin and you can ask performance.

N 570 is an 18-ft boat, so Performance would be likely to recommend the Inter 18/F18 chute for it. With a stock Inter 18 pole, it will almost certainly sheet to the shroud area. I have the same chute on a Prindle 19 right now, with an I-20-length (12') pole, and it sheets to the main beam. If I have room to bear off in puffs, I'm completely confident carrying it to windspeeds well over 20, altho I'm naturally crying for more sail area if it's under 10. This chute is 21 sq. meters or about 225 sq ft. Randy Smyth's "stock" Prindle 19 chute is 290, and for the 18' Nacra 5.5 I think is 260 sq ft. The 570 has finer bows than the race boats, so a bit less sail area should be very favorable.

good luck
