[#28753]

I am trying to re-rig my Wave with a self-tacking, furling jib.
Can someone send me some graphics and drawing layout on how to set it up.
I did it once years ago, but forgot and cannot find the info on how to do it.
Much appreciated,
You can send by email: rick@catsailor.com

Rick, you have forgotten more than most of us have ever learned. We can't help.

I have loaned out my Hobie 16 for the Charlotte Harbor Regatta. With the boat I included a copy of your

Upwind and Roll Tacking

video. I also had to loan them a VCR. Hopefully it helps their performance.

...I tried to write this out but it is a hopeless jumble. Ya gotta see it. I'll try and find some pictures.

From Viper manual and somewhere else.
Not great pics, but may jog the memory.

Waves aren't supposed to have jibs, Rick. hence the difficulties. <img src="<>/grin.gif" alt="grin" title="grin" height="15" width="15" />

I Know, Tawd, but I want to start sailing with CABB and they do a lot of distance stuff. I have had great success with the Super Wave using a Hooter and Uni. 2nd in the Conch Cup, 1st in the Round the Bay (60 boats), 1st in Sandusky Steeplechase to Put-in-Bay, Ohio.
Then got sails for the Super-Duper Wave, with a Hooter 9' out, and a jib 5' out. Was staying with a Hobie 20 until the explosion. <img src="<>/blush.gif" alt="blush" title="blush" height="15" width="15" />
Funny aboaut the Wave -- sort of like an International 14 -- it will handle a lot of sail area due to the tremendous buoyancy.

Guess I have too much time on my hands -- NOT!!!!

Rick, you and this guy should get together. He even has traps on his Wave.

Rick, what would it rate with max sail? I really like the idea of a simple day sailor that could be powered up easily.

This actually shows the self tacker working, though not in the manner you would expect.

I don't know these guys but they're my new heroes. Kudos!

ditch the jib idea. Just get a foil wing and a hooter and you're all set.

I hope to have the rig ready for the next CABB event. Rating is pretty good. With a Hooter it is around 89, and I was passing H16s. The Super Duper will probably rate arounde 86 and should pass the F18s.., That ought to stir up some smack. <img src="<>/grin.gif" alt="grin" title="grin" height="15" width="15" />

Will you post pictures? The current ones on the store site could use an update.

The story will probably start out as... I was crushing the F18 fleet and then my Hobiebob fell off and bonked me in the head and it went downhill from there...

I think those things would make great hats for the regatta party (or any party to quickly identify the multihull sailors)

We can call each other

Bob
