Site May Go Down, Server is in New Orleans
mojomonster.com is a different company than the one that runs the datacenter. We lease cabinet space from them where we place all our servers and manage them remotely. The site was down this morning because one of the servers stopped responding. I powercycled the machine from Texas and it is back up now.
There have been people at the data center through this entire ordeal. They have been monitoring systems and making sure things stayed up. They were most likely sitting in airconditiong with basic power while the rest of the city was out. The data center is also a central hub for many communication points coming in and out of the city. For this reason I believe they were provided with fuel while evacuations were taking place. You gotta keep comminucations running while something like this is happeneing.
Is this the Datacenter where you are at?
I think it's called Directnic?
I read through the blog for a bit. That's some hard core individuals to stick it out sleeping on HP boxes. If you want a good read on what it was really like downtown take a look through that blog. I've been following it and it's some fun reading.

Directnic is located in the same datacenter. I am not sure exactly sure who the parent company is, but Directnic is associated with another company www.zipa.com who we lease space from.
They are nice guys who have thier stuff together. If you go to www.zipa.com, they have a virtual tour of the datacenter. You can see the facility and how it is setup. It is definately a start of the art facility.
