Slip to Ship is happening at the OSYC grounds on Memorial Day Weekend. Same format, albeit the camping will be rather primitive ;-).

We'll be having the chicken etc. at the island, and a cookout for supper on Sat. We hope to have water and portapotties but bring along your Solar Showers! The good news... the entry fee will be less!

Please attend because OSYC needs your help. OSYC was underinsured and needs help to rebuild!

How about a updated NOR with times. I am trying to meet someone to get a Mystere 4.3? Is the race Sat-Sun or Sun-Mon. He is coming around 3-4 pm Sat.

OK. I will see you there. I will just have to sail out to island late and join the party and race back on Sun. It there a boat to take tent etc out there? Are will I have to carry it on boat? I have never been before.

The race on Saturday is out to East Ship Island and back (2 races). Once on the island, you relax, eat chicken, drink all types of beverages, ALLEN Beverages is usually a sponsor (Pepsi Distributor). Sundays race is usually around Deer Island. Straight line distance is around 12 - 15 miles each race. Some of the BEST sailing on the gulf coast, great club OSYC too! You won't be disapointed. Sadly my Stiletto is not ready to go back (I went last year). I've done the Slip to Ship probably 15 - 16 times (maybe more).

Peace,
Clayton

I believe the post above is the NOR. That's all you're going to get. This is not a formal race by any means. If you think you need an NOR, you're going to be shocked when you see the race instructions. This is a fun race, we do not entertain protests. You sail to the island, eat and drink, sail back, eat and drink and have fun at the YC, and then on Sunday you sail around a nearer island.

I was just wanting times. I am trying to coordinate meeting someone to get my Mystere 4.3 and race and have fun. No protest here. Just new boat and fun with grand daughter. Be nice to see Tami and Jay again.

This is Ocean Springs YC now that Katrina has redecorated for us. Sorry to be a bit testy, but we're just hoping we can clear out some area for people to camp on and get water and portapotties in. Last year's NOR will do just fine, things aren't really gonna change. The 2005 NOR is at the YC website.

Bub, if you're just buying that Mystere, are you going to have insurance on it? It is required that you have your boat insured to race these days.

Please don't go to a race where you don't know where you're sailing, on a new boat, especially uninsured.

Tami:

Yea I will have the required $100,000 (wouldn't tow it back without insurance) and I will just follow the other boats. I think he is meeting me Friday. If not I will just wait till Sun to race. Do you have nay motel contacts?
