I have a 83 prindle 16, the top of the hulls in front of the tramp are getting springy, what can I do, what danger does this present. I have also noticed that the insides of the hulls under the tramp where you stand to right the boat after flipping are getting the same way. Thanks

Sounds like 25 years of loyal service may be what you get.

The odd patch of softness does little harm and can be repaired, but it sounds like you have a bit more going on. The foam between the skins must be breaking down.

That is unless you have an old enough boat that was made in one solid skin. If this is the case, it may be possible to cut some access hatches in the deck and lay up some reinfocing or sub-decks.

I wouldn't recommend sailing the boat if the hulls are soft in the area where the bridle wires attach to the hulls. When you tension the mainsheet the force applied can fold the bows inward. This happened to me on a H16.
