[#19565]

New video from last weeks Space Coast 45 on board a Blade F16.

This video was completely shot with a new video camera we just tried out, and its only $140!

There is a link to the Adventure Online TV video store on the player if anyone is interested in getting one of these. They record 54 minutes of video to SD card and are completely submersible.

We like these cameras better than the Oregon Scientific ones we tried at Tradewinds. Better focal range, sound, and overall ease of use.

That looks a lot clearer than the Tradewinds video - was it some sort of setting on the camera?

I think they use a better imaging chip, the contrast is much better as is the picture. It also has a better lens for use on the boat and the video is less jumpy.

The operation of this cam is easier than the Oregon, and these folks are much more willing to listen to feedback.

There is one problem, Chuck kept telling me to stop filming and trim the spin more.

I was just thinking about opening a topic for information about waterproof cameras.
The Oregon Scientific was at the top of my list but now you've made me reconsider.
I remember seeing footage of the previous Digital Hero cams (320x240) but this is much nicer.

Yes, this is a new version of their cam, its called the Hero3 (as compared to the Hero). It uses a 2048x1536 pixel sensor which stores at 640x480.

I must say you/skipper were mighty bold for heading under those power line pole wires. I gave those things LOTS of room.

That was Chuck driving and me yelling. Chuck thought we had plenty of headroom to spare. We really didnt want to tack there.
