Maugh, we are currently sailing with 5mm neoprene mittens

But I must confess, there is a certain amount of line wrapping going on.. Going to the hardware store tomorrow to look for "lookalikes" as I dont think they will have the same brands.

I don't know if they are available in your area but we use Ronstan "sticky" gloves. The sticky bit is bs (they stick for about 1 weekend) but the leather is in the right spots and they perform exceptionally well. Check out http://www.ronstan.com.au/catalogue/p106-112.pdf (page 5). We use the RF4840 and my current pair have lasted 2 very long seasons.

[color] At the spinnaker ends, I have a loop on one end and a tail on the other made of the same 1/8 Vectron.

It may be expensive but my crew, Eileen, is really worth it!

Tying the ends of the spinnaker sheet together I think was fairly obvious so you are wondering about Eileen being worth it. Most of the modifications that go on the boat are for her. Whatever she wants she gets! NO QUESTIONS ASKED. If it costs more, even if just to experiment, so be it. After all this time sailing with me she deserves whatever she desires.

Later,
Dan

When you mention two ratchets, is this the setup?
