My tiller is worn up and in doesn't hold firmly in most of it length. Anyone knows how to repair this? I was thinking to add some resin and maybe a thin sheet of fiber in a few points to make the inner tube thicker, but i'm not sure if it will grip well.

I bought a worn out tiller for a song and fixed it by laying a few individual fibers from some woven roving/epoxy (fibers oriented with the length of the shaft) on the inside at the worn area. Worked perfect and lasted for years...the experienced cat sailor I bought the tiller from was kind of upset at himself that he let a perfectly good tiller go that was so easily fixed.

Cool, thanks. I just added epoxy, no fibre (I started messing with fibre it but decided not to continue....). It works great now.
