I am working on a project here in Raleigh, NC. I see advertised that the boat show is this week end. I'm sure I'll go anyway, but will they have many catamarans there? How is it? Thanks ahead of time for you comments.

Also, please keep the ice storms north of us.

If its like previous years, then Hobie (either Ship's Store or Sail and Ski) and IFG (Isotope/Cheshire manufacturer from Durham) will be there. That's probably about all though. I can't remember seeing Performance or anyone else there in previous years.

Well, MANY years ago, when I was doing my orthodontic residency in Chapel Hill (late 80's) we had a local NACRA dealer who attended and there was even a Supercat dealer there! He had a Supercat version of the 18 square on display (but it didn't quite fit the 18 square rule ). Never have seen or heard of this boat since- Maybe it was the only one they built?
Lots of fishing/ski boats and some monos and the Central Carolina Sailing Club, our NACRA/open Fleet, Isotopes and Hobie Fleets all had booths.
The show to go to when I lived there was the Annapolis Show - Lots more boats and easy drive- Usually a bunch of us went up together.

Last year, there were no hobie dealers because last I heard, Ship's Store in Wilmington had either closed or stopped selling Hobie. IFG (Isotopes) will be there. Rhonda's always nice to talk to.

I go just to check out the big sailboats.

Thanks for the info everyone. I'll be heading to the boat show this week end for sure. Probably on Saturday, unless someone has an extra ticket to the NC State - Duke game, then I'll go on Sunday. It will be a nice way to spend the day regardless. Boat people are usually the same anywhere you go. (PWCs aren't boats) I'll let you know how things go.

Thanks again for your replies.

You don't admit to even having a 6.0 anymore, do you?

Kind of like outgrowing an old suit. It still works, but I keep it for nostalgia's sake.
