So according to the Norwegian Hobie dealer, the new Wildcat Hobie F18 has performed very well in the few races it has done. Has any of you any data on the boat's actual results? How does it perform compared to the Infusion and Capriocorn etc?

Too early still to say maybe?

Regards Jimi

It has done really well for a new boat. BUT it has been sailed so far only by top sailors, those people would be ahead of everyone with a 10 year old piece of junk anyway. So I'd say it is not representative yet.

I was at its first event in holland and at Eurocrat, and the first UK one did the round the isle of wight race yesterday and to be frank it's nothin special at all. It is no faster than a infusion, capricorn, tiger ect... and in cases it seems to be slower.

At eurocat in a very light winds race we passed Bundy, Mourniac and the other pros on wildcats upwind on a infusion so also did Hugh Styles on a infusion.

It will take hobie a year or so to have that boat up to speed. Its really no different than the other F18s.

I kinda think that's where JW was going with his post, but maybe not I often misinterpret things on a forum.

Results from this weekend's North Sea Regatta in the Netherlands (I believe they still have one day to go tomorrow), very similar to last year with Mischa in the lead followed by a bunch of Infusions and a Cap in the top 10:
NSR F18 results
