The popping of rivets using the "power pole"

The first time I used it (the pole) besides being trapped under the high dagger, I pulled out the two rivets under the base plate. After further investigatgion, I found the primary reason: If one takes the pole to far forward, and the pole bottoms out against the striker, it creates a gigantic fulcrum againt the base plate, and rivets cant take that kind of load. I have since used the pole, being cautious of placement, and it has not been a problem....
Hope this helps, by the way, I am 6'4" 200 lbs and can solo right an I-20...
