Todd's prediction for 2020 candidates....
Did you hear? For the first time in a LONG time in the history of presidents moving back home, Barry is not moving back to Chicago, but is going to stay/live in DC?
He'll be the the poster child for those that oppose Trump.
But, I'm predicting here now, that in 2020,
Michelle Obama will head the Democraptic ticket!
If you didn't have your head up the Faux News bung hole twenty-four hours a day you'd know the Obamas announced six months ago that they plan on staying in DC for two years until their younger daughter graduates from high school.
As for who will run for the Dems? Elizabeth Warren is my bet.

Nah - she's too polarizing. Biden. If Trump can get away with the filthy offensive rhetoric he has so far, surely a funny gaf or three won't be a problem! <img src="<>/grin.gif" alt="grin" title="grin" height="15" width="15" />
I'm on record somewhere on this board predicting that we'll see Michelle and/or Elizabeth running in the future. We're screwed if that happens.
But don't worry, as they portrayed on SNL, Hillary won't stop running until she's dead.
I think it would be great to have a woman as President, but why can't we get a normal one to vote for?
Michelle:
Proud of my country for the first time in my life
after her husband won, to
All hope is lost
after Trump won. Zero class.
Elizabeth: Exaggerated about her ethnicity to get a job at Harvard, was irate and rude when called on that by a local reporter during her first Senate run. Since being elected, is a giant bag of hot air, explodes at big bank bad guys, but gets nothing actually accomplished herself.
Hillary: Enough said. I think that no one really wanted Trump, but is this really the best the Dems could drum up?

That
gets nothing done
might be a common thread in some outlets because she's a lightning rod - but she's actually been very active in pushing through legislation and is basically responsible for the creation of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. She's sponsored/created/co-sponsored 36 different bills - largely around protecting consumers and limiting big banks (obviously, she has some focus there), and she's REALLY effective at raising money for the Democratic party.
In my opinion, I don't think she's presidential material at the moment but I don't think it's genuine to state that she
gets nothing actually accomplished
.
who was the lady that got kicked out of the NAACP? That said she identified as black?
I think it wise to remember that most people who are best equipped for running the show have no interest in running government! Trump being the exception and I'm very interested in how he handles the concept of
open government

Trump best equipped to run the show? Really?!?! Why is his closest advisor still holed up in the Ecuador embassy?
Who cares? She was quite the loser, and got 100% what she deserved.
open government
Well, if his willingness to share his tax records is any indication, don't hold your breath...
Mike
We'll just say I'm not his biggest fan, but his tactics have proved me wrong on just about every prediction I made, so I'll give him credit for being smarter than I am (which obviously isn't saying much).
His cabinet appointments are interesting. While business acumen is undisputed in those cases, how they function in bureaucracy will be the key. I can't imagine government to be as nimble as some private sector companies are...
And have you so little faith in the American public to let ourselves be led off a cliff (economic, moral, global, or otherwise)?
We somehow survived the last (insert name of your favorite president here) administration.
There's plenty of fodder to ruminate over on every side of this. Proving once again the internet is the best way to waste time <img src="<>/smile.gif" alt="smile" title="smile" height="15" width="15" />
Most of the candidates I've started to like have imploded during primaries (going back at least 5 cycles). The parties just don't give us good options.
We really need someone who will work across party lines. True, one person can't make congress do the same, but they can set a good example and hopefully shame Congress into doing the same.
I feel like I've been voting for the least likely to screw up, instead of voting for someone who I think will do good things for far too long.
Mike
While I agree with your sentiment, it would seem that
compromise
is tantamount to
defeat
or
giving in to ....
which carries quite negative consequences for said politician's future.
I think most politicians really focus on keeping their position first and the
golden rule
second. The interests of the rest of us may come in a distant third.
Because my way is the ONLY way and anything to the contrary must be destroyed with extreme prejudice.
Mike
Don't give up all hope. There are far more reasonable people out there than the
info-tainment
channels would have us believe.
And most of us are proud of the fact that we can manage to adjust to pretty much every innane edict that comes from gub'ment. We've survived several administrations and will continue to do so.
Lastly, I don't subscribe to the notion that every politician is secretly the devil and legislating our nation's doom and unmitigated failure.
True, but this is the first time I've ever worried about my fellow citizen reacting to the government in a way that would threaten my life.
Not because of believing the media nonsense myself, but because of what others (on both sides) are foolish enough to believe.
A few days before Christmas, I was getting into my truck after a late night of shopping, when two people walked out of the store, and started screaming
Who voted for Trump?
and
Because you're going to get SHOT!
I was the only other car in the garage...
Mike
Yes, it is. That was at a major mall, where I've shopped for nearly 30 years.
Contrast that with a co-worker of mine who is ready to lead the next revolution and
take the country back
from those who would try to control assault weapons, claiming that his Marine Corps oath requires him to do so.
Good times...
So, if I sound irritated by the extreme sides voiced here, now you know why.
