Looking into replacing stock trapeze wire on my Inter 20. Considering use of Spectra or similar cordage to eliminate fish hooks forever. Has anyone had succes replacing wire with line? What is the best way to terminate such small line at fittings? Please respond with material type, brand name, and line dia. if possible. Also, which line is most UV resistant? Thanks.

Let freedom ring.

7/64'' Spectron 12 (spec 12 to some) would probably be the best thing.... you can get it from several places... West, Layline... it's fairly cheap ~0.20/ft

Note that when/if you make the replacement that the line is rather slick and it would be best if you can splice it. It's not hard since it is only a 12 strand single braid. If you can't/don't splice it, you should tape the knots with rigging tape to help hold the knots.

I trust this stuff for the job.... I raced on a J 92 that had a spec 12 backstay and it was great...
