The position of Area D Multihull Representative to US Sailing is a two year post. I have been the Rep for the last two years and my term will end at the 2003 Area D South Qualifiers in Biloxi, MS, November 1 and 2. I'd be happy to continue in the role unless there's a willing soul out there who'd like to get involved - the more the merrier. Area Rep responsibilities are explained at http://www.ussailing.org/multihull/areareps.htm - it's more fun than painting a fence and you get to work with some really fun people. You'd need to commit to making the Spring and Fall US Sailing meetings for the term of office (Spring 2004 is in Mobile, AL), which is also a guaranteed good time. Travel expenses to the meetings are tax deductible. Best part is you get to make a difference - I love this sport and have very much enjoyed taking my interest a step beyond weekend regattas, paying dues and entry fees, and reading publications. It's a sport that needs volunteers and I have a great time doing it.

Interested parties drop me an e-mail or come to the Multihull Council meeting in St. Louis on Saturday, October 18 at the Adams Mark Hotel, 9:30 AM, conference room 5.
