Hi, I'm Tami and my husband Jay and I helped Dave Tilley restore your VIVA. Well, Jay and Dave were sort of part-owners, but we all worked on the boat.
I looked at the Cat Sass footage with interest, having sailed your very boat. It looks to me like they couldn't blow the mainsheet (no surprise, it being on winch). If there's a lesson in Cat Sass' folly, it's to change out that silly sheeting system. Get a set of blocks - there's better stuff out now than there was at the time the VIVAs were made.
That said, they have a higher-aspect main than you do unless you changed out the dacron.
I heard you were selling the boat?

. did the same with the jib. much better than the original in my opinion. you can easily solo her now. i completly re did the rudders. i've done lots of work on the boat. she's down to 1550 lbs empty. see's pretty much dialed in now. thanks
