(This is an e-mail that was sent to me, and I am posting it here in case somebody can help this guy figure out what he has.)
I just aquired a 19.5' cat with 9.5' beam. I am looking for some information on it. The owner said he thinks it is called a Tiger Shark, and from England. The boat has no markings or nameplates, and is in need of restoration. Any info. out there would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

it's not what we know as a Shark is it? I don't know the beam on this boat but I bet Mary does.

If I had thought it was a Shark, I wouldn't have posted it. A Shark is 20 feet long and 10 feet wide. I'll ask him more questions.
Okay, since he did not provide much information, I have e-mailed him with questions, and I suggested that maybe it is a Phoenix, which was a little shorter and narrower than a Shark and had a trampoline deck instead of a hard deck between the hulls.
Does the person have a digital camera? Or if they have a film camera they can scan it.
He says the boat has a red panel on the sail about two-thirds of the way up, mahogany decks on the hulls, and a canvas trampoline that looks worn and original. So I'm sticking with my guess that it's a Phoenix.
I'll ask him for a picture, though.
FWIW, the Tiger Shark was an 18' twin trapeze cat designed by Ron Given in NZ in 1972. I used to sail one. You can see a photo of one sailing at http://www.givencats.com/ - go to the timeline and click on the icon at 1972.
