Hi Folks -
Just an informal update - plans for the 2003 Alter Cup in Clearwater, FL next April are proceeding smoothly. The Performance and Hobie class representatives have been asked to designate their representatives (two each) by the end of the year. At that time, a rotating class champion will be selected, and a deadline for petitions will be set. Once the petitions are reviewed, three of the petitioning teams will be asked to compete, and an entry deadline will be set. The entry deadline will be enforced this year.
The Clearwater Community Sailing Center is coordinating with the Bimare representative on staging requirements, delivery and assembly of the 10 new Javelin 2s that have been chartered for the event. This is a terrific venue - if you haven't been by and you get the chance, I recommend it.
The Clearwater area has seen some outstanding sailors come through in the last few weeks - I'm looking forward to April and the Alter Cup with a great deal of anticipation.
