Gents....

I was a member long ago but life tossed me a few curves and disappeared for a while.

I have a 1989 NACRA 5.8NA with a trailer and I'm afraid that I have to sell it. I do not know where to begin to assess it's worth. I'll toss in a few details and you can opine on it's value (please)

It's been in storage and needs some elbow grease.

It needs

A good cleaning and wax
All new shock cords and rudder lines
New tramp lacing and shock cords
To be rigged (new tramp is in a box)
The blocks need to be cleaned (salty but not worthless)
New shock cords for trap wires.
The daggerboard ends are a bit chewed up.

It has

A very lightly used, nearly new Mylar Main in great shape.
A brand new tramp in a box
A nice trailer.
A jib and a foil in very good condition
No damage other than a few gel coat cracks here and there.
Mics equipment, 2 harnesses etc

I think 200 bucks and a weekend would have someone a nice boat. I have no idea what the state of the art has morphed into nor what it costs to pick up a decent used boat. This was my 4th (two Sol Cats and one Prindle)catamaran and my favorite. I also used to build and teach on Hobies so I have some ideas of the boats condition.

The boat is in Virginia Beach. If it's not worth anything I may just keep it. It's a hoot to sail

Very nice boats.

Add a spin and squaretop main and rates same as F18.

Howdy,

The N 5.8 is a pretty good boat. A number of its specs are about the same as the TheMightyHobie18, but it's almost 10% faster.

What you could to is give everything a bath, make some photos, and post it on ebay. Talk it up in your discription and let the free market decide the price. But with the economy in the state it's in, demand miight be off, so maybe make the minimum bid the least you would be willing to take for it.
