Now thats an offer right there. My crew has been doing a good job but.......you probably wouldn't want to ride on a frankenboat anyway.
I'm coming in Friday morn to try and get the new sail tuned and tested. Gonna get a fresh coat of teflon on her this weekend. When is everyone else getting there? Where are you guys staying? My house is full with family and I'm staying at a friends to get some peace and quiet, kids drive me insane.
If there's no wind tomorrow, I'm going to throw a fresh coat of Hullcote on.
I'm getting there friday afternoon I hope. I think Brett and I are going to leave early friday morning and then get setup on the beach that afternoon.
Whats the
container
policy at Surfside? Solo cup?
Surely this gets us to 6 pages
Kind of like the thread where you told us that you had no interest in racing your beast, and then less than a month later started asking how you'd ever go about getting a
fair
rating for it?
I was wondering if they would have some folks available Friday to pull boats out on the beach and if we could keep trailers on the beach.. So I emailed Denise.. Here is her reply.
Denise Gulledge
to me
We will be pulling boats Friday evening probably between 5-7 or 7- 9, it will depend on how many boats show up if we will be able to leave the boats on the beach. I will be sending out details on Wednesday.

I spoke with city hall and parking on Fri night is OK. They do have a rule that boats cannot be on the beach overnight but are allowing it for the event. Said to launch at 4th ave. That explains why so many boats with surfside stickers showed up in N Myrtle 2 years ago. What a stupid rule, the beach has no liability for a boat being parked on the shore. Technically the city doesn't own the beach, but whatever! I hate rules like this that have no bearing on anything other than some old farts wishes! Too many beaches are getting shut off for no reason.
I was at the coast this weekend and took a look at the race site. Its a nice area, pretty high tideline but not bad. I am not sure about leaving a trailer on the beach but the boats should be fine. Trying to find out if pushers are acceptable for Sunday races but still have no answer. The wind was light this weekend. I went fishing and caught a few 50 miles out, was looking for dolphin but only got kings, lost a wahoo that was close to 6'.
What happened to Tawd? Thought OBX was going to represent! No Derek either?
I'm surprisingly very excited about this race, maybe its because I haven't made it to any race yet!
Wish I could. Maybe next year. We'll be at Hatteras and Catfest. I think Todd is paddleboarding across the Atlantic right now. He won't return my phone calls. <img src="<>/shocked.gif" alt="shocked" title="shocked" height="15" width="15" />
If it were really blowing, I would consider it. But I have Gary,my brother-in-law, crewing with me this weekend. I've seen forecast for about 10 each day, so we're just too heavy on the 16 in those conditions.... Also, for a distance race, I would much rather take the F18.. just hope I can correct out on the NA20s
I'll have the 16 at Hatteras and Cat Fest w/ one of my daughters crewing.
