Message for ERICE
Eric, I'm in Tokyo, for some reason I can never get PM to work here.
The boys at the Hilton are pretty organized, before I got my stripes off, they were calling to advise they were bringing a package to my room. What did you do, rob the entire NACRA label factory! Those decals are great, I'm going to send some to HALISKE in San Fran, California. DISCLAIMER I just got back from his place, enjoying company & the fact that he owns a vineyard, & has thousands of BARRELS of fine wine! He has 2 N5.2s, couple of Hobies & an N5.8...might have to go back for a summer visit.
I sent you a sail & those beam chocks & bolts, via a delivery service from Narita Airport. I had them packed in a box, & the immigration guy wanted me to pay a tax, even though they were deemed a gift. Lucky I had one of the language giirls with me. We skated the issue, & finally gotr away with telling him they were very old, & worthless!. She suggested we check the courier, then the post office for the cheapest shipping. Courier was Y1700, only a few $ more than post, so I sent them courier. They should be at your place tomorrow afternoon, with the dateline change, I'm thinking that equates to Wed. I had to select a delivery time, so I picked 6-8 pm. The language girl (Sumiko) told me if you are not there, they will leave a note regarding one other time. She also translated all your address info into Japanese, so it should work. I have documentation, but it's all in Japanese, so if you don't get it...????
I'll be home Wed night, (N American time) & can PM you from there. The sail is folded TIGHT, just listen to the crinkling as you unwrap it!
Cheers
Chris

A great one is when they can use the ship again!

Ressurect that Hobie 12 from your junkyard. Before I quit sailing i want to helm that weird contraption sitting in the weeds by the gear shed. It might be fun in 30 kts!
