Best locations for H16 sailing in North Bay (SF)?

Hi,

I have mostly been sailing smaller keelboats but have really enjoyed myself the times I have been out on hobies in the past so I am planning on picking up a used H16 as they are easy to come by and should work for me both for solo and double handling (I'm 6'3" and 200 lbs).

What are the best areas in the North Bay (we live in central Marin) for beachcat sailing? I live close enough to Tamales Bay but have also read about Lake Mendocino etc. What are people's favorites other than the bay itself around here? I am trying to find a place where I can store the boat and sail without having to trailer the thing around too much.
