I used to sail cats back in college, since then I have gotten into OD racing Keelboats.

My Qurestions are these;
Does anyone know anything abotu tornados built by Panther Craft of the UK?
The hulls are really light, and in great shape, this thing has been taken apart and stored in a barn for years, maybe decades..

Does anyone know if there is a reason H18 rudders (whole setup) won;t work on a tornado? The boat is missing a few parts, like ALL the blocks, and the rudders, casting, everything but the crossbar.

Any additional tips or insights would be great. I am psyced about getting back into cat sailing, and I love bringing old boats back to life. This will be the biggest cat I have owned (P16, h18)

Thanks all, please let the newb comments flow. Unless this place is a little classier than SA.

If you don't get useful info here, check the yahoo Tornado group, very helpful guys there.

I have 4 Tornados and there are 4 actively sailing on our lake, including a Panthercraft (that I found in a field in northern Ca.) Our local dentist loves the boat & put a Harken traveler on last season. But we don't allow Rambler parts on a Ferrari! I have a complete set of rudders & casings for a "T". See classifieds. We bought a sailcraft Tornado in great shape last fall. Only sailed it one weekend but what a blast to sail that bit powerful boat. Can't go wrong with the Tornados. Our next outing will be Memorial weekend and it can't come fast enough.
