Hi Everyone,

I've just bought a Prindle 15. It's my first sailing catamaran, and other than a go of a Hobie at a resort once, I have no experience with these things. Anyways I thought i'd join here to learn from you guys. I can't wait to take it out on the water, once I learn how to rig it up 🙂

Cheers,
Michael

Sounds great. I have a Prindle 18 myself and I absolutely love it. Yours should not be too hard to figure out. I think the 15 only has a mainsail and is single handed but I've never seen one myself. If so the rigging should pretty easy.

Great single handed boat. Will go to weather (upwind) great. Much more positive bouyancy forward than a H-14 and a lot drier as well. Can easily handle 2 people.

Welcome to Cat Sailing, Michael!
Do you have someone to help you rig it, or do you have the manual for the boat?
The manual is available elsewhere on this site. It is for the 15, 16 and 18.

my buddy has one and it can be fast...2 big people and it can bog down somewhat. we never really found the sweet spot for the mast rake(didn't try hard enough though). we had trouble tacking in heavy winds being a uni-rig, brush up on uni-rig tacking techniques and you will be fine. the boat is rated faster than the p-16 and i believe it. he had a jib for it but we never hooked it up. being a prindle, it's well engineered, built, and equiped...last forever! enjoy!

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone 🙂 I'm happy to hear good things about this boat and can't wait for her maiden voyage 🙂 This one has a jib, but i'll sail without the jib at first until i get the hang of it. Thanks for the link Bob. I've got the manual printed out and will go through it.

Have a great Christmas everyone 🙂 I'll let you's know how I go

Cheers,
Michael
