free Nacra 5.2 - Riverside CA

What are the chances? Here's my old 5.2 I sold 7 years ago with the same sail number as the one in riverside 2000 miles away. Hope someone grabs it. I would if it was closer.

That is cool, be interesting to know the story. Maybe contact the seller?

Damon, first I have to say thank you for all your good work rebuilding this site, it's wonderful and the ability to finally post photos is amazing. Thank you Thank you!

Now that nacra is a story. I was gifted that boat by a friend who bought it from the original owner and never sailed it. Score! Except as we know there's no such thing as a free boat. After fixing everything necessary it was a great boat for a number of years until I got a rich girlfriend with a fast 40' boat. Life was good. I wasn't using the 5.2 so I sold it to a couple of high school kids. 

Four years later the relationship with the fast 40'er failed and I found myself without a boat. Very sad.

Then one day I got a call from a woman who tracked me down through the DMV asking if I'm the one who sold her son a nacra 5.2. Hesitantly, I said "maybe". It seems her son never transferred the title and has since moved away to school and she wants it out of her yard but needs a duplicate title to sell it. The boat was still in my name. Could I help her out? She just wants it out of her yard. 

Umm, I'd be happy to come take it away for you. She was quite pleased with this suggestion and once again I was gifted the same nacra 5.2. 

Again, there is no such thing as a free boat. I fixed all the things the kids broke or neglected and went sailing. Life was good again. 

Ten years on, I bought a $200 dart 20 and sold the nacra again to pay for the Dart commissioning.

I'd be surprised if this is the same nacra 5.2 being given away in riverside, but it's the same sail number and I really hope someone rescues it from the reaper.
