they will tell you what parts you will need before sailing in the worlds greatest playground. bring spare everything cause it's damn expensive to ship big parts.
We race every first Saturday of the month in Kaneohe Bay on Oahu. the biggest fleet is Hobie 20's. Or, (are you listening Mike) we have our BIG regatta this year August 16-17 Bring your boat over on the superferry.

Distance racing? There is a three day race around Oahu on Memorial day (we sometimes do the second day) and a race from Maui to Oahu on Labor day called
the Lahaina return
. Mostly fun stuff in or around Kaneohe Bay on Oahu. We don't venture out to often due to the wear and tear on the boats (unless you are on a Hobie 16, still the best boat to get out in some big waves).
I'm headed to the Hobie 20 nationals in a week. How was Alameda last year?
