Hobie 14 sailors: Let's try to have enough boats for our own start! If enough people are willing to make the trip, I will give an informal tuning session/share speed secrets on that Friday afternoon. Please pass the word!!
Happy New Year!!!!!

I expect to attend but I will probably bring my 16 instead of the 14. I think the regatta suffered last year from lack of information. There was so little info that I wasn't sure the regatta was going to happen a couple weeks before. It would be nice to have online registration because it seems to build momentum for the regattas that are using it. The NAHCA site still doesn't show the dates... If you are sure of the dates email them to Karen Ann so she can put them up on the NAHCA site. A flyer can be put up as well.
cheers

I sent her the info. Hopefully all the race info will get out shortly. Maybe we will have more than 5 H14s!!
How did you like the tuning guide? Is there anything you would change or like to add to it?
60 degrees with sunshine, 12kt winds and liking it!
Bob
I read the tuning guide and it was pretty close to the way I set up my 14 at the Mega. I liked the method of measuring side shroud slop. I assume that you are using all standard issue shrouds and bridle. It is a very nice guide.
After sailing a 16 for so many years it was kind of strange to look leeward going upwind and see the shroud chainplate almost laying down due to slack.

I Know and that is why I didn't want anyone confused. IWCA (Intl Wave Class Assn) was formed long ago and has rules that are governed by the people that sail Waves. After the Waves were flourishing NAHCA finally recognized Waves and made an arbitrary class for them under NAHCA.
However, they don't recognize our class rules.
That is why I just wanted to clarify to Wave Sailors that this is not a sanctioned Wave event.
There is a National Series Championship for Waves and the first of which was the Tradewinds.
Others will be at the Spring Fever, Sandy Hook, NJ, Put-in-Bay, Ohio, Lake Eustis, FL and and unspecified site in Texas. Dates for most are TBA.
Thanks,
Rick
