I'm planning to do a bottom job on my '83 H16. Does anyone know where to get the hull templates or traces to make templates?

Yep, 'On the Wire' Archives www.catsail.com

Vol. 1 Issue 7 Feature - Repairing Hull Bottoms

This article has a jpg file you can pull with the Hull Templates. I had to play around awhile to get the printout proportional. But it was worth it.

Thanks for the info.. I don't know how anyone could do an accurate, quality job with only one template for the entire hull. It appears that the templates were printed from some manual or magazine. In the lower right hand corner it says March/April 1985/61. Does anyone know what publication the templates were taken from? Is there a more complete set of templates available?

I also was a little doubtful the single template would help, but there are three depth measurements listed for the distance from the first pylon, the center, and the rear pylon. The template fit the hull shape exactly in the center and will provide a pretty good go-by for the keel shape from pylon to pylon if used with the depth measurements provided. Unless there has been some serious hull damage, the single template should keep you class legal after reshaping normal keel wear.

I think this template was copied from the hull repair kit sold by Murrays. A Hobie dealer might be able to provide more information.
