'86 H16 with comptip. Halyard hook is missing. There are 2 sets of holes, on set has been filled with epoxy, the other is obviously where the previous owner had the hook. What should be the distance down the mast where the hook is supposed to be attached?
The manual shows the original mast and has the hook placed approximately where the filled holes are on the mast. The open holes position the hook just below the end cap.

Eric: The top of my hook is 2 and 3/8 inches below the lower rim of the masthead (cap).
