harken cleat

One jaw, on the cleat on my harken low profile blocks is not workling.Seems like the spring is gone.Is there a fix?

It's possible tht the spring is just our of place. Remove the screw and pull the cleat apart and see that the spring is in the proper notch. There are some loose bearings in the cleat, so take it apart on a towel.

Harken (HSB56) and West Marine (202523) both sell the replacement springs. If you've busted a spring, chances are your cleat's pretty old...I actually managed to wear one out. Take a good look at the teeth. If they're really worn, it may just be time for a replacement...also available from Harken (150) or West (114652).

Opened it up ,spring had come disconnected and had a kink in it .Tried to fix it and it broke.I ordered a new spring.Blocks are only two summers old so jaws are still in good shape
