Minor and Major Questions
Hi
I just sailed in the sail melbourn commen welths and i found out about that you are alowed to change your rig tention on the water, i never knew you were able to do this. Well by the 3rd day i tryed to chang things but i felt like i couldn't pull any thing on as tight as i could pull it on on shore. Does every one have these problems and what do you have to help.
Thanks, Jules
Jules,
you may use a different self cleating clam for the halyard which is commonly used in the European boats. www.sport-mohr@t-online.de sells them.
It is a lot easier than with the American ones to adjust the rig tension. In a race if we are not satisfied with the tension upwind, we adjust it on every downwind leg.
One should train that, once familiar, it is a huge gain.

Mohr (8x times European Champion on HC 16 and one on HC 18)is the guy who is running the biggest Hobie shop in at least Germany. These parts are commonly used in the European boats.
BTW we will have a TRIANING AND TUNING seminar with him here in VA Beach togehter with myself.

OK maybe i am an idiot but looked around for stuff on the adjustable system you are talking about and can not see a good descrition of it and looked at the website with Mohr, but my German is rusty so not sure what was there. Do you know of any other places to look.
Thanks
