I'm looking to sell a Hobie 16. Its a late 70's model (if that matters) with some pinholes in the trampoline and a rip in the jib (its along a seam so I don't think it will be too expensive to fix). Everything else is in good shape, about how much is she worth? I hate to sell my first boat but its time for a new one.

It might be easier to estimate value if you listed some of the stuff you have on it. (Trapeze setup, type of mainsheet, condition, etc.)

Check our Classified Ads Page for Hobie 16s and use that to help evaluate the worth of the boat. And be sure to run an ad there as well, when you are ready. That page gets a lot of attention.
We get a lot of letters telling us how good the results are, and here is one from the other day:

Hi Mary and Rick,

Just wanted to drop you an e-mail and tell you that I was able to sell my Hobie 20 over this past weekend. The sailor in Iowa that bought the boat contacted me after seeing the ad in your website. Thanks alot. Everyone ask how I was able to find a buyer almost 500 miles away from my home so quickly.

Thanks again,

Joe Kuchenbuch

Good luck,
Rick

You can do the same thing on the Hobie Cat forums. They have a "For Sale" section that you can review and ultimately post your boat here.

You can also search eBay for Hobie 16's - if you're a registered user, you can even search the "completed" items to see what things actually sold for. (The selling price tends to go up dramatically in the last 5 minutes of the auction.)

there are a couple of Hobie 16's and a 14 for sale. Check it out- this will probabely help you to get an idea for the price.
