I live in Vienna, Virginia (right by Washington DC) and I need to transport a Hobie 16 (on a trailer) from Bay Point, California to my home in Virginia. I really do not want to drive across the country and it isn't really an option for me. Does anyone have any ideas on how I could get the boat across the country without driving myself and without breaking the bank? If yes any suggestions on Companies?
Or, is anyone planning a road trip and wants to make some extra dollers by dragging along a boat? I could meet you anywhere closer then California (well, as long as it is a day or so drive from Virginia)

You should look into car transport companies. My sister just moved from denver, and when her car arrived on the transport company truck, there was a boat on the trailor too. I'd also recomend haggaling on the price as it is dictated by the size/weight of the car. A Hobie is a feather next to a car.
